Eyelash Extensions

Q: What Are Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions?

A: They are individual extensions made of a synthetic material; thicker at the base and thinner at the tip with a slight curl. They are adhered one by one to a natural lash with a medical-grade bonding adhesive giving the appearance of a darker, more voluptuous lash-line.

Q: How Often Will I Need To Get A Fill?

A: On average, you shed 3-5 lashes on each eye a day, to keep the lashes looking their best we recommend getting fills every 2-3 weeks.

Q: Can Eyelashes Be Applied On Anyone?

A: Anyone with an eyelash to attach to can receive extensions. However, if you have any of the following conditions a consultation is recommended prior to scheduling your Fullset Appointment.

-Extremely sensitive eyes or skin
-Eye infection of any kind
-Allergy to cyanoacrylate

Q: Will The Extensions Damage My Natural Lashes?

A: Our application technique and premium products will not damage your natural lashes. It is imperative to the health of your lashes to have each natural hair isolated when an extension is adhered to it and ensure proper separation so that the hairs can continue to grow and shed as they would naturally. We only use formaldehyde-free, medical-grade adhesives which are made exclusively for lash extensions and offer a more sensitive adhesive for our guests who are more prone to allergic reactions. This combination of our top quality adhesive and individual lash attachment will sustain the health and integrity of the natural hairs indefinitely.

Q: Describe The Application Process

A:The application process is very relaxing, just like receiving a spa service. You will lie back and have your eyes closed the entire time. The application is very gentle and can be best described as though someone is gently brushing through your lashes. The service generally takes approximately 120 minutes to apply a full set and refills can be done in as little as 30 to 60 minutes. The procedure is so relaxing and comfortable that many clients fall asleep.

Q: How Do I Take Care Of My Lash Extensions?

A: It can take up to 24 hours for the eyelash extension adhesive to fully cure the bond between your natural lash and the extensions. Avoid swimming, spas, saunas and tanning on the day of your lash appointment. After the 24 hours, they are able to get wet. While sleeping, lashes can tangle brush through your lashes each morning with a clean mascara wand to reshape the extension and keep them fluffed into place. Clean your makeup off overnight using an oil free cleanser or makeup remover wipes.Do not use any mascara. The overall upkeep is very minimal and very easy to manage.

Q: What Do I Need To Do Prior To My Appointment?

A: Remove all eye makeup and clean your natural lashes with an oil-free cleanser.
Avoid caffeine and any other stimulants that may cause your eyes to flutter involuntarily.
Refrain from curling or perming your natural lashes prior to receiving your full set.

GentleYAG Laser - Hair Removal, Vein Reduction, Pigmented Lesions

Q: How does the laser work?

A: The laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deep into skin tissue where it delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat. For patient comfort, the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) technology protects the upper layers of the skin with a cooling burst of cryogen. Together the long-pulse laser and DCD cooling offer optimal treatments with minimal side effects.

Q: What skin conditions can be treated?

A: The laser will remove facial and body hair, vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, and wrinkles.

Q: What does the treatment include?

A: Depending on the area treated, the procedure varies from patient to patient. Generally, the treatment will include: wearing safety eyewear to protect the practitioner and patient's eyes from the laser light during the procedure. A small hand piece will be used that touches the skin to deliver the laser light. A light spray of coolant onto the skin will be felt just before each laser pulse. A test area will be done prior to the entire treatment. Most patients experience little discomfort at the treatment site because of the dynamic cooling device. The degree of discomfort varies with each person, depending on his/her pain threshold. Topical anesthesia may also be requested based on individual preferences or tolerances. The procedure can take as little as 10 minutes or up to an hour, depending on the area treatment. The treated area may become pink or red within 30 minutes of treatment; this may last from a few hours to several days and is relieved with the application of ice or cooling gels.

Q: What precautions should be taken before and after treatment?

A: Avoid the sun 4-6 weeks before and after treatment. Hair removal patients must avoid electrolysis, plucking or waxing hair for 6 weeks prior to treatment. If there is a history of peri-oral herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed. Photosensitive drugs must be discontinued 3 to 5 days before treatment.

Q: How many treatments will be needed?

A: The number of treatments depends on the treatment required and the condition of the skin. For hair removal, most patients require 4 to 6 treatments, as the process is only effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth stage. Other conditions require anywhere from 2 to 6 treatments. Many factors impact the efficacy of individual treatments, including the severity of the condition being treated.

Q: What are the side effects?

A: Risks are minimal. Side effects may include purpura (a laser bruise), redness, blistering, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation and swelling in the treated area. These side effects usually do not last for more than a few days. Permanent side effects such as hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation or scarring are rare.

Q: Is this procedure covered by insurance?

A: Most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement for cosmetic procedures, however, consult with your insurance carrier for more information.

Accent Laser - Fat / Cellulite Reduction, Skin Tightening

Q: On what parts of the body can AccentXL be used?

A: Accent helps smooth and contour any loose, wrinkled or dimpled skin anywhere on the face and body. The treatment can help flatten the stomach and slim the hips and thighs. It also improves the thin, delicate skin that develops on the face, neck and under arms. Many patients also consider it after surgery or having a baby.

Q: What is an AccentXL treatment like?

A: During the procedure the Accent system is set to precisely heat the tissue just within the dermis. Depending on the size of the treated area, a treatment may take up to 45 minutes. Following each treatment, the patient can immediately resume all routine activities. There may be slight redness, which should disappear in less than 24 hours. Generally, no more than three to five treatments at two weeks intervals will be required.

Q: Are the treatments safe?

A: Absolutely. Incorporating advanced safety precautions, Accent directs proven radio frequency energy precisely to the areas of the skin being treated. Thousands of patients have been treated safely and successfully worldwide using the Accent system.

Q: How long before results will be seen?

A: Dual-layer RF Thermotherapy causes the deep structures of the skin to tighten right away; results are immediately visible. With time, new collagen develops, further tightening the skin and yielding even more beautiful, natural looking and firmer skin. While just one or two treatments can produce good results, optimal results require follow-up procedures.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: While pain tolerance is subjective, most people tolerate Dual-layer RF Thermotherapy well, and have little or no discomfort. Patients often describe the sensation as a "warm massage." The risk of significant side effects is extremely low.
